From the fall of 2024 to the fall of 2026, UFO launched the program ‘For and by Artists: what does it mean to support artists’ in Flanders and Brussels (read more). The initiative kicked off on November 6 with UFO Visitor Program #4.
UFO Visitor Program #4, a visitors’ program for international curators with a public component, took place from November 6 to 10 at the Paraplufabriek in Brussels and was hostedby Level Five and Cas-co.
This program offered artists the opportunity to connect with programmers and curators, who, in turn, gained insight into the artistic practices at Level Five and Cas-co, the local art scene, and various artistic perspectives. The program promoted exchange and interaction, encouraged the discovery of shared interests, and provided participants the chance to learn from each other’s organizations and personal experiences. This fourth edition centered on the theme of collectivity, in line with Level Five’s role in De Appel’s Lumbung program.
Six international guests introduced themselves and presented the methods and tools they use to support artists in their daily work. Afterwards, a roundtable discussion provided the opportunity to delve deeper into their approaches and exchange experiences.
