Dear all,
We would like to invite you to our first project— LOBBY, a temporary queer lobby in the heart of Ghent. With Shif — t* LOBBY we launch the brand new artistic organ of De Verffabriek: Shif — t*: a transdisciplinary collective that believes in activation through body, language, deconstruction, care and polyphony. Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s Shifgrethor, we embrace craft and language as a transformative tool, as something that glows, chafes, and refuses to be recorded.
Between June 1 and June 15, we linger/dwell/abide in BLANCO (Lammerstraat 31, 9000 Ghent): as a meeting place, as a workspace, as a scenography of what emerges. You are welcome to drop in, linger, read along, move along — or just be. We lobby — not in back rooms, but visibly loud, sometimes messy, always with care.
For two weeks, all sorts of things happen: performances, collective readings, film screenings, DJs, live-screen printing and more. You can leave something behind, or take something with you. You can pin something to your body, or hold it in your hands. You may listen, watch, talk, be silent, dance, get lost.
The lobby is open — come by!
