‘To be continued…’
The relaunch and planned renovation of Sphinx Cinema form the starting point for Leen’s mural. In the foreground, two figures find themselves in a cinematic moment, just before a possible collision. The background depicts a game board, a course that can be started over and over again. Playfulness and seriousness, control and chance, cinema and reality come together. The collision does not mark an ending, but a new beginning.
About Leen Galle
Elements with diverse material qualities and meanings form the starting point of Leen Galle’s work. Images and objects clash, intersect and interlock. Through her visual practice, Leen creates unexpected encounters. Different components find a common language through colour, form, rhythm or texture, resulting in colourful and dynamic compositions. New and unfamiliar contexts emerge, each with their own sense of humour.
