Springveld — Noor De Dapper
‘Springveld’ (2025)
289,5x 88.5 cm
Oil on canvas
I am about to burst,
like the seed itself spreads:
stubborn and
uncontrolled.
A flower that does not follow the frame,
but rewrites it.
‘Springveld’ — a field, a canvas to leap into, yet one that is itself on the verge of bursting. An enclosed space, defined by boundaries. Here grows the seed, a plant that cares nothing for its surroundings. It follows no set path, no direction dictated by the frame.
Fearlessly it chooses its own way, without warning, as if indifferent to what came before. Sometimes it takes over everything, smothering a frame. Sometimes it chooses emptiness.
Sometimes it jumps away unexpectedly. The seed decides for itself where it takes root, where it leaves traces, and quietly departs. Do you dare to leap through the frame?
