We’re delighted to welcome you to a new edition of Chit Chat: a moment for artists to meet, exchange ideas, and engage in conversation about their practice. This edition will take place on Wednesday 30th of September at Convent 15. All artists and anyone with an interest in contemporary art are welcome, whether or not you have a studio with NUCLEO.
Amir Khojasteh starts with images that fascinate him: a historical figure, a fallen body, a strange creature, or a gesture that refuses to leave his mind. Through repetition, play and transformation, these images gradually lose their original identity and become part of new stories. Working across sculpture, painting and drawing, Khojasteh draws from Iranian visual culture, art history, memory and imagination. Rather than illustrating a fixed narrative, his work allows stories to emerge through the act of making itself, creating a space where reality, fiction, fear and possibility can coexist.
For Chit Chat, Khojasteh will share this way of working and reflect on how playing with images can lead to storytelling, and how storytelling can open up alternative ways of seeing and imagining the world.
